13 LGBTQ women share their experiences hooking up with “straight” women, revealing significant differences.

“Enquiring with the fashionable LGBTQ ladies of the BuzzFeed Community, we inquired about their experiences with their dalliances or encounters with women who identify as ‘straight’.”
Boldly divulging their intimate tales, these women revealed the unique dynamics within queer relationships. With each love story showcasing a distinct journey, it’s essential to bring attention to the diverse experiences within the LGBTQ community.
I once fell for a girl who identified as straight. She was not only my best friend but also the most incredible person I had ever met. At some point, she started flirting with me, discussing other girls with me, and calling me cute, among other things. Unfortunately, when she became a successful model, she deemed being in a same-sex relationship as detrimental to her image, and our relationship eventually came to an end. Overall, it was a challenging experience, but prior to the breakup, our relationship was characterized by a flirty best friend dynamic.
I’ve been there before, darling. Recently, I had a fling with my best gal pal. We had some fun times, and things only escalated from there. My emotions got the best of me, and it started to make things uncomfortable. We talked it out, but she made it clear that we would never be more than friends with benefits. I had to cut it off for a bit, but now our friendship is better than ever. At the end of the day, I care about our friendship more than anything else. I even told her that! I let her know that she’ll always be gorgeous to me, but I cherish our connection more than any physical desire. It’s important to prioritize what matters most to you and move forward from there. Luckily, we’ve handled things like adults and have kept the tension at bay. Don’t get me wrong, I’d indulge in some fun with her again if the opportunity arose, but I have to maintain my boundaries to prevent catching feelings once more.
I had a notorious crush on a girl who identified as straight while I was in a state of denial about my own sexuality. Our eventual hookup led to a heartfelt confession of my feelings during a sleepover five years later, following her recent breakup with someone else. Our romance was something straight out of a movie, but my parents were not receptive to our sapphic relationship occurring under their roof – so I’d ditch school and hang out in her classes or in the media room with her more lenient teacher. She was my first nude recipient, my inaugural sexting partner, and the first person I’d ever found myself in a threesome with. My teenage brain mindlessly convinced me that we were destined to be together.
