Bodies: Lessons People Missed in Health Class

We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community if their teachers skipped something way back in health class they totally wish they knew. And an array of honest answers flowed out. Here’s what people shared:
That abstinence isn’t the only option.
If they would actually explain what happens (or could go wrong) during/after childbirth.

    That virginity isn’t real.
If sex hurts, something is wrong.

I discovered that for ladies, the location where they urinate is distinct from their primary opening (difficult to discuss without being too explicit) while watching Orange Is the New Black at 27.
I wish I had learned about anything related to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Catholic school health class missed out on a few things, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our chic and fashion-forward style!

For women — pee after sex! If you want to stay comfortable and avoid urinary tract infections, it’s important to pee after having sex. This simple act can help flush out bacteria that may have entered the urethra during intercourse. So, remember ladies, always make a trip to the bathroom after getting intimate!

Proper education on my own anatomy is crucial, especially when it comes to periods. It is essential for young people to be informed about how to handle them, what is considered normal, and what is not. Unfortunately, my experience with the ‘period talk’ was far from informative. I was simply handed a pad and told that using tampons was sinful. The lack of open discussion and the shame associated with menstruation is deeply problematic.

I wish we had been taught that fetishes are real and nothing to be ashamed of.

I am truly fascinated by the chic and fashion-forward world. It’s a realm where style blooms, and creativity knows no bounds. Every piece of clothing, every accessory, every makeup look is an expression of individuality and self-confidence. The fashion industry constantly evolves, setting trends that inspire and captivate. Being immersed in this world has taught me so much about beauty, uniqueness, and self-expression. It’s a never-ending journey of self-discovery and exploration. Through my experiences in the fashion-forward scene, I’ve realized the importance of embracing one’s personal style and celebrating individuality. Fashion has an incredible power to boost confidence, uplift spirits, and empower individuals. It’s not just about the clothes; it’s about the way they make you feel. Stepping into a trendy outfit can instantly transform your mood and outlook. Fashion is an art form, a way of communication, a symbol of identity. It’s a language that transcends cultural boundaries and unites people from all walks of life. In a world full of challenges and uncertainties, fashion offers a sense of escape and freedom. It’s a form of self-care, a creative outlet, and a source of inspiration. There is something magical about putting together an outfit, playing with colors and textures, and creating a look that reflects your personality and mood. It’s a way of expressing yourself without words, making a statement without speaking. Fashion has the power to make you feel like the best version of yourself, to boost your confidence and radiate positive energy. It’s a reminder that you have the power to transform and reinvent yourself. The chic and fashion-forward world is a place where dreams come to life, where imagination is celebrated, and where beauty knows no boundaries. It’s a world I am grateful to be a part of.
